I Trust My SEO Agency And They Deliver Great Results, But I Can’t Stand My Campaign Manager; What Do I Do?

Campaign Manager

You can’t get on with everyone that you meet. It’s a fact of life. Try as you might, sometimes there are people who really grate on us – often for no real reason at all. But, what do you do when this person who you can’t really stand to be around is the campaign manager for your business’s long-term SEO campaign – especially when they deliver such amazing results?

In this article, we’ll share some tips on how to navigate this tricky situation.

What to do if you don’t like your SEO campaign manager?

Unfortunately, your options are rather limited. In any case, here are a few suggestions to help you navigate the situation.

  • Fire your SEO agency: this is an extreme and obviously terrible idea. However, if you really can’t stand them and don’t see a way out, you can always say goodbye for good. That said, if your SEO agency is delivering awesome results and making you money, this would be a very silly thing to do.
  • Suck it up and get on with it: alternatively, you can just grin and bear it. You only need to communicate with your campaign manager every now and again for progress reports so it may be worth just sucking it up and putting your business and SEO results first. It’s not the easiest option, but it’s certainly the most diplomatic (here are some tips on working with someone you really don’t like).
  • Ask for a replacement: another alternative is to try and speak with their superior and request that you have a different campaign manager assigned to your case. You don’t necessarily need to give a specific reason why, but the fact is, they will value your business and be happy to accommodate your needs.
  • Assign an employee to the case: this could be a very good time for you to delegate and step away from the marketing side of your business altogether. Don’t like your campaign manager? Put an employee in charge of all communication with them. Problem solved.

Business is business

Again, it can be very frustrating having to work with someone that you don’t particularly like, especially when they happen to be very good at what they do.

Unfortunately, as is the case in life, we can’t get on with everyone that we meet.

Yes, having a campaign manager that you thoroughly enjoy working with would be a huge benefit, but unless they’re continually making mistakes or hindering your company’s online presence and overall SEO success, then there’s very little that you can do about it.

Our advice would be to either suck it up and get on with it, or delegate the task to an employee and make them your main liaison.

The good news is that it is very rare that you would be assigned someone who isn’t very good with people. Campaign managers typically have excellent communication skills and when someone calls you up to tell you how well you are doing and how many sales you are making through your website, it’s hard not to love them!

Final thoughts

Of course, if you can’t stand your campaign manager and they are failing to deliver results then there’s only one thing for it: sack them off and find a reputable SEO company in Melbourne instead.
