Recently, Troy Caruso, CEO of Radium2 Capital, did an interview with us to share some of his biggest business insights. Caruso has achieved a lot in his career so far, and he learned a lot along the way. His focus right now is on the finance industry, but his overall business wisdom was apparent throughout the interview.

You are currently the CEO of Radium2 Capital. What exactly does your company do?

At Radium2 Capital, we offer an alternative financing company for business owners to access the funds they needs to fuel growth or for whatever their business needs are. The focus has always been on giving clients the best chance possible to succeed with the funds they’re seeking.

Have you always worked specifically in finance in the business world?

In one way or another, yes. Even when I was very young, I was always drawn to the world of business. It is really exciting to see success stories in the business world, and that is really what led me to Radium2 Capital. So many people have great ideas and are making a splash in their respective industries, but they may need just a little bit of extra help at certain periods of time.

I do feel like Radium2 Capital is pretty much exactly what I should be doing for work. Traditional banks are not always as lenient or as giving to some people, so we offer an alternative solution. Rooting and supporting the underdog, if you will.

How Does Radium2 Capital stay connected to the community?

I believe that one of the best things any business can do in the beginning is to show genuine interest in the community from the beginning. We don’t just get our business locally all the time, but still many of our clients are trying to build businesses and provide jobs for locals.

All employees at Radium2 Capital are encouraged to give back and be a part of the community when they can in their free time. As a business, we do a number of events throughout the year to show that we actually mean what we say. The more you care about your specific community, the more success a small business can have if you ask me.

What is one of the best pieces of advice you can give from what you’ve learned in the business world?

That’s a tough one because I’ve received some great advice over the years. Out of everything though, I must say that while the business idea is important, the business execution is the real deal. Don’t limit yourself in the beginning or it could really prevent any business from taking off. That includes the initial set up, who you pick to work with and more. There are a ton of creative people out there, and chances are someone has thought of your idea, or something similar, before. Execution leads to success.

What is the future outlook for you and Radium2 Capital?

I’m really trying to apply what I’ve learned with other companies to make sure Radium2 Capital stays strong. We are working with all types of businesses and business owners right now, helping them live out their dreams. There are always going to be people with ideas and people wanting to start a business, so as long as we continue to support those we are with now, others will follow.

It might sound cliche, but the clients we work with do inspire me and make me focus harder. After all, Radium2 Capital was once just a business idea too. We are all kind of in this together when you look at it that way.
