While you’re lying in the bath listen to some relaxing music, light some candles and put some essentials oils into the water.

Get out of your work clothes as soon as you can and put on something comfortable. Even if it’s your pajamas, you’ll feel far more relaxed.



Light exercise is good to do in the evening. It helps to clear your head and burns off all the excess mental energy. Try a walk outside, some yoga, or stretching exercises.

Progressive muscle relaxation is a way of relaxing your mind and body. Lay down somewhere quiet and tense muscle groups one at a time. Hold for several seconds and then relax as you exhale.

Distract Your Mind

Take your mind off all your worries by listening to soothing music. If you enjoy the music, it should help to relax. Sounds from nature can also be very relaxing. Many people choose to listen to the sound of waves crashing on the shore, birds chirping, or a flowing stream to help them fall to sleep.
